Earth Science
This is a Regents science course. It will look at the different parts of Earth and Space, while investigating the different systems on Earth, how they interact, and how they impact our lives. Content areas include astronomy, plate tectonics, meteorology, hydrology, and geology. The course emphasizes higher level thinking skills, such as the analysis of data, developing mathematical and graphic models to explain relationships, and the application of science concepts. Being a Regents science class there is a Lab requirement of 1200 minutes. Laboratory work is a direct extension of classroom work and will include direct observation, data interpretation and analysis. Those who meet the lab requirement will take the regents exam at the end of the school year.
